What to do until you reach us
- Rinse with warm salt waterHalf a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water. Rinse gently, don't spit hard.
- Cold pack outside the cheek15 minutes on, 15 off. Never put heat on a swollen face.
- Paracetamol for painTake the normal dose on the packet. Do not put a tablet on the gum — it burns.
- AvoidVery hot, cold or sweet food, and chewing on that side.
- Come at once ifSwelling of the face or eye, fever, trouble swallowing or breathing, or a knocked-out tooth (keep it in milk).
